Liverpool Anglican Cathedral

There will be talks on the importance of heritage in the life of the community, the place of heritage in the policies and activities of local public authorities, businesses and other organisations, recognition of the contribution which heritage can make to the success of tourism and therefore of the local economy, and the vital contribution which voluntary societies make to all this.
Topics will include :-
- “A City Councillor’s view of Liverpool's Heritage and Culture”: Cllr Gary Millar (a Member of Arts Council North West)
- “The achievements of voluntary societies in supporting local heritage”: representatives of several societies
- “Taking heritage out into the city” - The Dean of the Anglican Cathedral (Justin Welby) and the Dean of the Roman Catholic Cathedral (Tony O'Brien)
- “The role of Liverpool Arts and Regeneration Consortium (LARC)”: Alistair Upton, Chief Executive of the Bluecoat Arts Centre
- “Heritage and Business”: Maresa Molloy, Head of Policy and Information at Liverpool Chamber of Commerce & Industry
- “The Open Culture website”: Charlotte Corrie
- “The Media and Heritage”: Joe Riley, Liverpool Echo columnist
- “External promotion of Liverpool's Heritage”: Pam Wilshire, Head of Tourism and Development at The Mersey Partnership
- “Open Forum” led by Ken Pye, Director of The 3~Thinking Programme, and local historian, broadcaster and author
